It does sound like that could provide a happy medium between the persistence of a forum, and the interactiveness of a chatroom. Or at the very least a reason to stick around for a bit longer.

      I hate Discord servers. Maybe I am just getting old but I miss the old forum days.

        Shhh I was always more of an IRC person back in the day, but I think a big difference then was that there was no real chat persistance. Of course people would keep chat logs sometimes, but they'd be a rather roundabout way of finding old information. Services like Discord where you can easily find and link/reply to past messages tend to blur the line somewhat, often making forums obsolete, while at the same time being more difficult than forums to keep up with.

        With stuff like IRC, forums were still active, as the two sorta went hand-in-hand. IRC for general real-time chit chat, forums for talking about more in-depth stuff.

            malmon Yeah, I think that's what I hate the most. Having to feel like you have to be present at all times or else you will miss out. I just prefer talking at my own pace, but when you got a bunch of people just screaming into a void at once and a chat moving so quick, it just feels pointless.

                malmon I've been alright! Life has kept me busy these past few years, but thankfully things seem to be slowing down a bit. How about yourself?

                    Shhh Glad to hear it~ I'm about the same, except for the lack of slowing down ^^' Work's much busier than usual, and I only tend to have one day off these days with renovation work.

                    It's not been the best year, admittedly, but I'll get through it ^_^

                    I've also been playing around with Stable Diffusion a bit~ It's fun and extremely frustrating.

                        malmon I know we'll make it through ^~^ I guess it's just how things go as you get older. It's hard to make time for anything nowadays! I miss being 19 and posting on here lol
