Backlash How are you doing now? I'm really glad you are still around 🙂

i miss being motivated to work on this place & also hate how distant i've become from everyone here.

people sometimes message me and i just feel too out of touch now.

i think 2015 was the peak of this place for me, i used to make friends with 90% of the people that joined but idk i think when some members started to dislike me i handled it pretty badly.

i like the current iteration of lewd but at the same time i kinda wanna make lewd 4.0 more focused on individual interactions with people.

I think things started dwindling a bit after lewd got a Discord instance. A lot of people sorta just started only going there.

clare i like the current iteration of lewd but at the same time i kinda wanna make lewd 4.0 more focused on individual interactions with people.

Assuming there would be a sizable number of people to interact with, what are you envisioning?

one of my fav features that lewd used to have but was removed due to using discord is the facebook style chat where you could see who is currently online and just start live chatting with them. imo it felt really easy to connect with new members with it.

i think if i was to create another iteration i'd add a live chat to the homepage that'd essentially replace this thread. ik the site has realtime functionality now but i think in a chat format it'd feel more lively.

then as an extension to that i'd wanna add the ability to start live chats with other users/groups of other users. ik discord provides that kind of stuff but not only is discord not for everyone i wanna make it so that people can connect via the site again and having it built into the site opens other options for what i could add to the site.

clare That must not have been something that I ever made much use of, since I can't remember it at all ^_^'

It does sound like that could provide a happy medium between the persistence of a forum, and the interactiveness of a chatroom. Or at the very least a reason to stick around for a bit longer.

I hate Discord servers. Maybe I am just getting old but I miss the old forum days.

Shhh I was always more of an IRC person back in the day, but I think a big difference then was that there was no real chat persistance. Of course people would keep chat logs sometimes, but they'd be a rather roundabout way of finding old information. Services like Discord where you can easily find and link/reply to past messages tend to blur the line somewhat, often making forums obsolete, while at the same time being more difficult than forums to keep up with.

With stuff like IRC, forums were still active, as the two sorta went hand-in-hand. IRC for general real-time chit chat, forums for talking about more in-depth stuff.

malmon Yeah, I think that's what I hate the most. Having to feel like you have to be present at all times or else you will miss out. I just prefer talking at my own pace, but when you got a bunch of people just screaming into a void at once and a chat moving so quick, it just feels pointless.

malmon I've been alright! Life has kept me busy these past few years, but thankfully things seem to be slowing down a bit. How about yourself?

Shhh Glad to hear it~ I'm about the same, except for the lack of slowing down ^^' Work's much busier than usual, and I only tend to have one day off these days with renovation work.

It's not been the best year, admittedly, but I'll get through it ^_^

I've also been playing around with Stable Diffusion a bit~ It's fun and extremely frustrating.

malmon I know we'll make it through ^~^ I guess it's just how things go as you get older. It's hard to make time for anything nowadays! I miss being 19 and posting on here lol

Shhh Ah yep, that was a good time~

Shhh It's hard to make time for anything nowadays!

Yeah... And even when there is time I just don't feel like doing anything after an entire week of work

Has Misaka been wearing the Santa hat all year...? >_<

malmon Oh same for sure. I sit in front of a PC all day for work now, I really don't want to look at another one as soon as I get home.

Better than Ritsu being confused for... 5 years?

Shhh I see your point, but the Santa hat was always a December thing! Now it's ruined!!
