Ahh, I'd forgotten how much I liked the cooler weather. There's just something special about walking alone on a chilly night. In lieu of the sun beating down on your head, your center of sensation moves inward as you shutter yourself from the cold. You become occupied with your thoughts, yet nonetheless acutely aware of the world around you. On my best days, I've even felt as if I could better empathize with my friends, or even random strangers. Perhaps this is just me, and winter just makes me happier for some reason. Regardless, it's really somethin'.

I spent my past four winters in Oregon and being back in Texas reminds me how much I miss the cold. At least there's finally something of a breeze here.

Tonight is the night with mid 30's for me, and some rain to go with that, too. D:

I love how Spring cockteased us with two days in the eighties, then was like "lolno, it's ten degrees above freezing again". Given climate change and all that, it wouldn't surprise me if we're making up for that Indian summer we had till mid-November.

I personally welcome cooler days. The sunlight hours are brisk, and the nights are especially serene once winter gets into full swing. Can't say I'm a big fan of the four straight days of rain we're getting, though.
