at this point it's mindless bickering.
if you want to bring any of this shit up again, go ahead, but I want you to reply to every single thing I say below.

We need rules for these basic reasons:
No, it creates chaos; you forget that we had rules for a while.
https://lewd.sx/t/changes-to-staff-and-rules
The answer I gave for the above bullet point covers this.
The answer I gave for the above bullet point covers this; they did nothing but cause confusion between staff and users as it wasn't clear where the line between breaking the rules and when it wasn't something that should be enforced. Not due to the rules, which were well thought out and planned, but because rules are never clear enough to judge when a user takes something too far.
Which is why I now rely on common sense; where I don't have to punish people for little things and we can all be happy until someone pushes their luck, gets banned temporarily (after a warning), and returns angry af and posts nonsense in public trying to start drama.
It prevents users from feeling as though they are wrongly banned, or being surprised when they are banned, because there is a document that you can point to and show them exactly why they are in the wrong.
Even when rules are in place people come up with "reasons" as to why they were wrongly banned; like when we had the rules in place we had bullshit like "x user did it too, why are you unfairly banning me" or "i didn't even get a verbal warning for it" when they receive a warning via the warnings system.
Same as above.
I guess this point is right, although meaningless.
This point I agree with; too often do people post things in threads about people doing things that would require warning instead of reporting them.
Why you say we should not have rules (and what I say about them):
Friction between admins and users: not true. do you understand that this friction is happening because there are no rules. If there were rules, and I broke one, we wouldn't be having this argument. It actually makes it more difficult for someone to dispute the ban, because the rule has been there the whole time.
Like I said above, we had rules for a while and my points against rules all come from that time.
Everyone should know the difference between right and wrong. Doctors say the age of reason is eight years old, so unless anyone's under eight, everyone here should know what's reasonable.
Rules for yourself just sounds like a funny way of saying common sense.
Look at that, you got me to write a legitimate post. Congratulations.
I didn't know you had it in you.
The bottom line is that it makes everyone's life easier.
No, it really doesn't.
edit: looks like you forgot to style lists. perfect.

Please continue. Or don't, whatever. For the record, I'm in favor of the "anarchy, not chaos" approach to things. Even if we wrote explicit rules, I doubt anything would change around here, but I'd prefer to operate without them for as long as possible.
not saying which because I am sure I will be eBullied for saying it
now I'm curious.
