malmon Uh, pardon my French. It's the positive height difference. The slopes you climb.

Finally got a new boiler installed in my flat... a year and a half after we ripped the old one out ^^'

I was at a shooting range last weekend with my dad and my friend and a couple of other people. It was a lot of (expensive) fun.

There was a couple, i don't remember all their names. Some AK, M16, some AR15, some pump shotgun, a (single fire) SMG, I think it was (the new one, not the old one) CZ scorpion, a couple pistols, Glock, Sig Sauer, Walther and XDM.
My friend's dad also brought his over&under shotgun and FB Grot. That's about it I think. Oh, all the pistols were in 9mm.

        (Grot and over&under not pictured)

WorstFriend Nice! Looks like an AKM, I think. I didn't realise they made single fire SMGs ^^'7 Seems like it would kinda defeat the purpose of the machine part.

Sounds like you had a blast ^^ The only real gun I've ever fired is some double-barreled shotgun - it's pretty much impossible to get anything else in the UK

I didn't realise they made single fire SMGs

They do for civilian market. It's not entirely pointless, you still have a long gun with a stock, it's way easier to shoot it accurately than a pistol. It also doesn't want to break your wrist nor your shoulder whenever you fire. Plus you can stuff a bigger magazine in an SMG than a pistol. Having automatic fire is not the only perk of SMGs.
Also because of all that they're quite good for first time shooting. Long guns are safer to handle (it's harder to point it at someone accidentally, you don't have the slide going backwards and threatening to break your thumb if you place it in its way) and the recoil is very tame. Though I shot an AR15 in .22lr once. Now that thing felt like an actual BB gun.

              5 days later

              Feelin'... pretty good!

Grandma just passed away. I was there to see her die. Thing is we saw it coming, and the anticipation consumed me for over a month. When the time finally came, I was ready, and took it well.

Of course, one thing I've learned this past month is that not everyone grieves in the same way. While I might be chipper and have already accepted yesterday's events, my family struggles, and gradually mourns. The least I can do is be here for them, and ease their conscience in this time of loss.

Backlash yea it is always hard, glad you're taking it in stride and doing well and offering support. you are awesome

just received a forced promotion with more responsibilities and barely any more pay... mixed feelings

malmon I run a paint store, like architectural coatings for buildings in nyc
it's already super demanding and i'm workin over 50 hours a week

now they are making me train prospective store managers which just adds unnecessary load on me

at least I got to update my linkedin lol

COUPLED Wait, so they've forced you to a position you haven't been trained for, to train others to take your new place?

I'm surprised that the work hours are that long at a paint store! Do you spend a lot of time advising customers?

malmon i'm perfectly qualified to train people since I have a great understanding of everything imo, but I just don't want the responsibility.

As for the long hours, The store is open 70 hours a week, and if I need to be there so shit doesn't burn down yknow. Plus I have to visit jobsites, meetings, deals, etc... there are just always problems going on either w a customer or in the store that I have to fix

I've had a really busy past few weeks. Lot of stuff going on. I wanted to share this cool thing I got though.
