I suppose I hide my power level both at home and in public, but I'm doing much less of the former as my figure collection has grown, I'll soon be framing two posters, and my family know I cross-played at a local con recently.
As for in public, I don't really talk to people I don't know unless I'm in a situation which makes it ok, like in the airport or other waiting situations. I don't think I would bring up anime in that case, even if he brought it up first.
