Weird thing about Discords for me is I've always ended up ghosting any Discord I join. I always found it a bit hard to keep up with all the conversations. So I personally don't care too much for it unless I'm in a voice chat.

COUPLED tbf Discord did a lot of things right. They put together most of the communication tools that people wanted, and made it so that you can access basically any community with one login. But much like with many other things, most people don't seem to see the issue with a centralised system like that until it's too late.

I had my breaking point with Discord the other day when I realized they block VPNs altogether (at least I can't log into my account anymore). I'm sick of these websites becoming unusable when you want a little bit of anonymity, so I'm going to just avoid most of the mainstream stuff altogether. (Edit: I may have been wrong about Discord blanket banning all VPNs, maybe it only blocks some. Sorry I was crashing out T_T)

But you are right about it being hard to participate in a community when there's just a single #general chat with messages being sent constantly.

darpo And I think Twitter now requires a cellphone to make an account too? God it's so bad. I'd rather pretend the Internet is still in early development and these big social media sites don't exist yet. (Edit: and Reddit too! I can't log in to my Reddit account! They expect me to turn off my VPN!)

darpo discord servers suck, most people are mean or just ignore u all together even if its a small server

i like to use steam chat even if its rlly bad but then people just demands a discord 🙁
