Anyone else here play tabletop RPGs? I've gotten big into them since a house fire destroyed my gaming PC. Granted, I'm playing solo, but rolling some dice and running adventures is miles ahead of mindlessly playing OpenTTD all night.
The first system I tried to learn was GURPS, which was incredibly crunchy and not worth the effort IMO. Afterwards, I picked up a lovely lightweight system called Everywhen - a genericized version of the popular sword and sorcery RPG, Barbarians of Lemuria - before settling on Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. I'm currently running a campaign similar to Sword Art Online, wherein all my PCs are trapped in an animesque fantasy MMORPG.
One thing I will say is that TTRPGs require a lot more time invested than video games. I mean, I read sourcebooks at work, and I still take weeks to learn a new system. Some people do it much quicker however, so perhaps I'm just a slow reader.
