BTRFS has been working without any issues for me for over a year. Other people seem to have different experiences. Keeping up to date with the latest kernel (i.e. use arch) is recommended. raid5 and raid6 modes are broken and should be disabled in mkfs.btrfs. If they are not disabled, dont use them. Apart from that, works a charm. Been saving me from corrupted files for quite a while on my random array of old shitty disks (2x500gb + 1x1tb, raid1).

I know I know but I can't be assed to switch from yaourt. And vim's keybinds are nice. Too bad evil-mode exists, so I can use all my fancies that you dont get in vim, and keep the keybinds.

Seamless editing on remote servers using tramp-mode over ssh. You just edit /ssh:hostname:/path/to/file instead of /path/to/file. All plugins work great remotely. Compile commands etc. are seamlessly executed on the remote machine without configuring anything.
Multiple windows work much, much better on emacs than vim. You can place windows (emacs calls them frames) on multiple monitors, buffers are shared for all open frames and you can even have the same buffer open on multiple frames. Registers (yank/paste) are also shared between windows. In vim, you have to open a completely seperate vim instance for each monitor, and the instances interact in weird ways, especially with backup files.
Magit (git for emacs) is the only git gui I prefer to commandline. It's very close to the commandline in many ways, which is probably why. Magit commands map almost 1:1 to git commands, but the command output is formatted in a nicer way.

Thats just a few things. I've never used emacs without spacemacs, so I can't attest to that either.
