Hey there! I stumbled over this site by following a link on a neocities site by some guy called garett (pretty random, right?). Been lurking here for a couple of days, so I thought it's time to introduce myself and start posting. My interests are anime, fantasy books, japanese movies, linux & programming, video games (PUBG) and of course lewd stuff. Recently I have picked up drawing and painting (acrylics) but I'm still pretty bad. Hopefully someday I'll be able to draw the moe stuff. Oh, well... when the time has come, you will see me in the 'Creative' section. At the moment I am mainly into watching some of the not-so-super-well-known 90s animes like Scrapped Princess , Irresponsible Captain Tylor , El Hazard , as there don't seem to be any currently airing anime interest me. My favourite (japanese) movie is Love Exposure by Sion Sono. You should really check it out, if you haven't watched it yet. It leans heavily on anime and manga tropes and can be pretty "lewd", e.g. the main character is a pantsu-photographing perv and in love with his sister (not blood related, ofc). I'm sure most of you would love it. Oh... and did I mention that it is 4 hours long? Anyway, it's a masterpiece that manages to capture the 'anime'-feel like no other movie I have ever seen. It's also critically aclaimed, so definitely not something only anime fans would enjoy. With that out of the way, some more information on me: I'm 24m from Berlin, Germany. The last time I was truly active on a forum must have been 12 or so years ago. I still remember that time fondly. Forums seem to provide a feeling of community and personal connection that is lost in big communities like /r/anime or 4chan. I guess that's what I signed up for. Nice to meet you!

Hello and thank you! I really do need to draw more... At the moment it is not something I do regulary so improvement is slow. Even though I really enjoy it, when I get going! Sometimes it is just hard to find the motivation to start, when low effort entertainment is so readily available via the internet. I think for starters I will post some pictures in your photography thread. I went to Japan last month for the first time and while I'm not a great photographyer, there should be one or two gems worth posting. Incidentally I have a question regarding the site: I tried using the 'Search thread' feature, but it directs me to a 404 site . Is that normal behavior?

Doesn't help that I've been pretty lazy my whole life, so it's always a struggle to keep myself from slipping back. Luckily it's gotten easier over the years tho. Ahh, I didn't even see that search bar! When you go to a category, there is a 'Search threads' bar directly above the first thread that directs you to the 404 page when you type sth and press enter. It's the same height as the 'Replies' and 'Last Reply' headers.

Doesn't help that I've been pretty lazy my whole life, so it's always a struggle to keep myself from slipping back. Resonates with me LOL. I'm currently trying to change my habits so I'm not wasting away, but I'm struggling hardcore trying to change those habits. Been in the same rut for 6 or so years now and it's more or less killing me. Got any tips to sort of break-free?

I recently had a rather large project and I put forth no effort into it and it shows. If I had done what I'd done a week prior I would've noticed my flaws and rectified them before the turn-in date, but I did it the day before and ran out of time leaving me unable to make the necessary changes. Even now as I write this I'm putting off an assignment due tomorrow regarding a network analysis and recommendation for change paper. Due tomorrow. I'm not learning from my own history. :/

I love how she deals with her abusive boss by calmly collecting evidence and getting him fired or how she always has helpful advice to give to her friends, when they are down. It's definitly gotten better for me but reflecting on it now, I'm not really able to pinpoint what has changed exactly. Maybe that's a lesson in itself: changing stuff like that takes such a long time that you won't even notice it, while it's happening. I think the important thing is to bring your life on a trajectory facing ever so slightly upwards by making small changes from time to time that don't take a lot of effort. For me it was stuff like getting up earlier on some days and cooking a nice breakfast to get the day started, or going to the library to do assignments bc I can't concentrate at home, but I think it's different things for everyone. On the long run the small stuff will accumulate and you'll be better of for it. On another note, the best thing that's happened to me was probably moving from a single room appartment to a shared flat (nowadays, me and my flatmate watch animes every night!). Anyway, how is your assignment going lol?

Anyway, how is your assignment going lol? I think you strike a good point that it's the little things over time that build up. Forcing a change in one sweep can be a bit much, and instead taking each day in stride with a small change is probably the better way to go about it. That being said, I did manage to wake up early today so for that I'm happy LOL. My assignment goes. I got the analysis portion done and now I am doing the written portion of pointing out whats being done correctly, where there could be improvement and places that definitely need to be fixed. Because I woke up early I got plenty of time to handle the rest of the assignment and get it turned in before class.
