I've been hugely fond of this particular piece for at least a week. It starts unlike any song I've ever heard, harsh and sweeping, like a reminder that what you're dealing with isn't human. The subsequent sections evoke a scene of ruthless and blisteringly-fast naval combat under stormy skies. On the occasions I've shut the lights and immersed myself in the moment, listening to this has filled me with the most horrible sense of dread.

Stumbled across this little number yesterday, and I'm not sure why it ain't more popular. Something about this era of Deco's music really speaks to me, for some reason... Maybe it was the spirit of the era, and I pine for those days at heart, but songs like these transport me to an ideal world where I can feel a warmth and connection to everyone around me. It wouldn't matter if I were a stranger in a new city. As I crested the tallest hill at sunset and peered out over the glittering bay, all I'd see would be an endless playground peopled with potential new friends and new adventures just waiting to be had.

Saturday morning when I found myself in an empty house, I stumbled across this video in my reccs and immediately became obsessed with it. Mighta even danced a little, heheh~. I feel like it hearkens back to the simpler, more innocent times in my life. Both the first few weeks of this grueling pandemic here in the US, and the brief stints when I could really be carefree and take it easy.

Now that things are looking a bit sunnier for me, especially after my first surgery, I can't help but associate this with a feeling of rebirth, or resurgence. Those carefree days might finally be coming back, soon. ^~^

These past few days, I've been unable to sleep. Not since one of my closest friends started exhibiting the early signs of schizophrenia.

I'm gonna try my level best to help her, of course. She's a treasure to me - it's the least I could do. But whenever I'm alone at night like this, I can't help but have visions of the things we could've done together.

If only I wasn't so sickly... Ahh, god, dammit. This just ain't fair... ;_;
