Bahahahaha, how was the first English dub of Cardcaptor Sakura (ahem, sorry, CardCaptors) this horrendously bad? Like, granted, the VAs were probably paid pennies, but for Pete's sake Sakura sounds older than me. >.<
The hit-and-miss musical score aside, what's interesting to me is how they splice out important plot elements just to make the show even more kid-friendly. This was from the "Jelly Donuts" era of dubbing, and it shows, but it's not like kids never develop an unattainable crush on an older friend. Or, y'know, stumbled across Japanese in some capacity.
