I find it troubling that a lot of people do not have belief in GOD. Is anime or the virtual world more believable?
That's a bit of a weird comparison, the anime world isn't really something you believe in, but just a form of entertainment.
weird indeed, but not completely wrong...
if you choose to "believe" in anime, and accept it as part of your reality (cosmovision), whilst denying "God"(who/what, by the way hasn't been defined by akiram) the condition of real, you are most probably doing so because you have "a reason to believe": your senses.
you can watch anime, and other people do so, so it's not only in your head, is it?
and yes, that would eventually lead you to deny realities (realities not real to you, btw) that fail to fit in a material plane, and to accept matter (substance) as the last instance of existence, uncaused, and with intrinsic properties of absolute necessity for reality to be real.
hence, concepts such as "Mind" "Conscience" and eventually "Freedom" would be pure sh*t, perhaps society's constructs, perhaps not.
if we are cause by the interactions of matter only, are we really the cause of our actions, thinkings, and feelings?
the answer is no.
