There's so many more birds out now that the humans are all gone. Just today as I was getting something from the garage, I startled a poor little sparrow that was nesting in the rafters. She was a rather small, but plump little thing. When she landed on the handle of our snowblower, I noted she had plumage of the richest brown I've ever seen, save a thin white stripe than ran back from her beady black eyes. I've never seen a bird like that before, and I wager it's because we aren't around to mess up their habitats.
This quarantine has been hell, but only because of shortages and the possibility of infection. I reckon if the rest of humanity were shut-ins like me, my rare trips out would feel much more special.
