I finally avenged the loss of Planet Lucia by being very persistent with justice overtones over a year and at LAST beat the hell out of the STORM Union by forming my own Pan-European Alliance of only a couple of regions and nations and smacked their rear. That was the very faction that called the shots against my Lucian peoples, but I turned around and made a serious comeback, but will no longer be dwelling on my past personality, only to look forward to rebuilding Earth, normalizing relations with many civilizations I interacted, make my 10th and last puppet nation (Sturmdrungen) peaceful once more, and when all that's settled, I'll retire from NationStates for good.

I'll just have to take care of a few other low-priority things for my alliance such as attending to N-Day and Z-Day one last time, and trying to lay low. Yes, it would be sad for me to continue further, because it is already taking quite a toll on my schedule at times, and that means I have to give a chance to say goodbye to as many that I met as I can.

I was so surprised to see birds today! Plump little robins with great red chests, pecking at worms that slithered out of the soft soil. I suppose during the utter furnace that was July and August here, they must've migrated elsewhere for greener pastures... ^^'7

I'd been having some worrying thoughts as of late... Over the past few days, I was genuinely beginning to worry whether I was developing signs of psychopathy. Luckily that wasn't the case, but I was really cold and distrustful of other people, so I've decided to change that.

Today, I got to smile twice when people were nice to me. First, when my co-workers gladly accepted my share of this week's work so I could get my surgery done this week, after I'd planned to stay awake all night figuring out what I needed to do from piecemeal notes. And second, when the doctor I saw today didn't even make a fuss over my rush to complete his paperwork, and gave me the clearance I needed, no hassle.

I was so relieved... Could you believe I thought he would get angry at me for not having everything done? I even thought he'd throw me out of his office at one point, that was before I saw him of course. And as for my co-workers... If they were really gonna stab me in the back, why would they put in all this extra effort teaching me how to maintain the system? Jeez...

Well, I'm not gonna beat myself up over it. Maybe the world isn't so cruel, after all...

Finding this site has been something that has made me smile. I only found it as of recent (2 weeks I think) and it's weird to see all the old stuff, but really cool too. Makes me hopleful for the future in a weird kind of way.

I wasn't of one of my favorite visual artists having their own webcomic. It seems rather silly, in a rather pleasant way~... ^^

Ohh, that looks like something I'd enjoy. Would you mind sharing a link to the webcomic? ^_^

Heheh, 'course love! It's pretty short so far - just 18 Eps of two or three pages each - so she's just posting it in a Twitter thread.

If you like her art, you might also be interested in the free VN she wrote. It's apparently a short retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, this time as a sweet romance story, from what I can tell. ^~^

As of late, having been forced to go shopping again, I've made a habit of holding onto things things I don't want till I reach the line. Once there, I'll find a worker and hand it to them directly.

It's a minute kindness, aye. Most people don't know what to do with it at first. However, I reckon that the stockers at these big-box retailers already work hard enough. Might as well make things a bit easier.

At the very least. the girl monitoring self-checkouts seemed quite grateful. She was very kind, thanked me twice. ^~^

Ah, I typically just go put it back in its original place~ It bothers me when people just leave stuff on random aisles though, yes!

Got a better job. Pays better and has better hours. Not to mention the management is great. The funny thing about why I like it is that I don't have to talk to anyone and just do my own job for the entire shift.

People actually just leave things everywhere? 😂
That sounds pretty wild. And then there is me who won't even pick up an item unless I really want to read the label in the back because I was afraid of dirtying whatever I was picking up with the germs on my hands. If I pick it up I'll probably take it home.

        Foolguy

I usually stay behind to talk with other people. It's kind of fun for a few years. Better pay and better time are more important though definitely.

水面の朧月 People actually just leave things everywhere?

Yeah. It's usually one sort of person though. I shan't try to sound too elitist here though~

eeeeeh, I dunno. There's definitely a balance to be struck. What's the use in making loads of money if you hate getting up in the morning every day?

The new DUNE movie is amazing. I had the biggest smile on my face by the time the credits were rolling. ^__^

Nice bike, what do you like about it most? I'm not a biker, so I have no idea.

I found this one random site while I was going through my password manager to clean it up and sort everything. Turns out it's a forum I registered on a few years ago on a whim and not only is it still going strong, it also looks a lot cooler since I last visited it!

I do feel a little bad for forgetting about this though.

I wouldn't feel bad, most new people these days show up for one day, then disappear forever. The fact your back means you've done better than most.
Also welcome, enjoy your time here

I found out my university library is a Federal Depository Library and had a lot of fun looking at old government reports!
            (Yeah, yeah, I'm a nerd, I know...)
