Your ISP likely won't give a shit about you torrenting anime. They only really care about "hot" items, like recently released movies or albums, things that can get them sued by the copyright holders. And even then I've heard the extent of what they do is write you a stern letter or throttle your internet for 24 hours.

When I was younger I used to pirate games until I got my connection blocked for 24 hours. I don't pirate video games anymore but that really taught me the lesson of VPNs lol.

I don't think you need to worry much. As long as you don't live in Germany. That's probably one of the few places you might get a fine. Also besides if we're talking anime, if I remember correctly it's kind of hard for them to go after foreigners for this due to their copyright laws. I think it's more directed to their own domestic population.

Besides, even if your ISPs were to notice. You would most certainly get a letter of warning first before any action. And that's what keeps me doing it too :p If I get a letter, I will just chill out. But from all my years of downloading I haven't gotten a single notice.

Imo I think what DMCA hunters in hollywood really care about is uploading, not needing. So you might be in more trouble if you were having a seedbox at home uploading for public trackers. Just beware of some vigilante's that might try to blackmail you for money, it isn't legal so just ignore any of those intimidations.
