floattube Man, kind of makes me miss server browsers in modern games...
I feel like the lack of server browsers, or perhaps more the lack of free dedicated server software, is kinda what killed gaming for me somewhat. I still play a bit, obviously, but it always used to feel a bit more social before. Like when you'd find a server you like because it has a fun gamemode or plays your favourite maps, you'd eventually get to know the regulars on there, and potentially make some good friends.
Or if you were particularly keen, you'd run your own dedicated server with your own gamemode.
These days, you just go into the game, matchmake, play the match, then never see those players again.
Of course there are still games that follow ye olde model, but no so much with popular titles.
