If you take drugs to be healthy or a better person it's medicine .. Imo. If you take drugs to be cool or such its just stupid.

I don't approve of drugs unless its medicine given to you by a doctor. Now don't get me wrong i know it can be some depression soothing type of thing but i just find drugs completely wrong. I dont approve of it when people do it around me, i don't want to be near them or be associated with those type of things (unless its medication once again) I mean if a friend started doing something like that i would try to help them but doing stuff like that isn't a forced choice, its an option. Oh and caffeine is also fine, i can also say that if its something that's helping you physically and not a lying state of mind, its fine too. But stuff like marijuana and any type of tobacco or that hard shit, pisses me off right there.

My view is against refined versions of drugs, for example chewing coca leaves is ok but I’m against refining it into cocaine. I don’t care what people do to themselves as long as they don’t drag others down with them. I pretty much just smoke the devils grass and occasionally drink booze or coffee.

I don't really have a positive opinion on drugs. Most of the people I have met who smoke weed, for example, are absolute idiots. Like the guy in his 40s who hangs around the skatepark in my town with all the degenerate teens. Of course it's fully plausible that not everybody who uses is an idiot, but y'know. Doesn't help my opinion much.

I also have a relatively negative opinion on prescription medication. Back in 2010 I was in a car accident, totally shattered my leg, later came close to losing the leg through septicaemia. Was stuck on heavy painkillers for a long time, spiralled into depression and was stuck on Prozac in an effort to get out of it. I dropped the Prozac after a couple of weeks because I felt like I was going insane, withdrawing into myself and hearing things that nobody else heard, so that was fun. Since they wouldn't prescribe the same painkillers I had in hospital I had to make do with over-the-counter stuff, and I wound up taking more and more to get rid of the pain, eventually I realised that I wasn't taking them for pain relief, but out of habit; in other words, I was addicted to them.

Now I have to be careful not to fall back into that routine, which is kinda tough because I still get pain from my leg.

Anecdote aside, I don't like drugs unless they're an absolute necessity. I've broken off friendships due to the people in question starting down the path of harder stuff.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just, when 99% of your experience is negative, it's hard to break out of that and see the positive aspects. I know there are probably a lot of successful, normal people who enjoy a casual smoke now and again, but they typically speak a lot more quietly than the LOL#420BLAZEITFAGGOTSMOKEWEEDERRDAY ones.

I am all for the legalization of marijuana. Never done it myself, never cared to, but it never bothered me. I hate when people try to push it on me after I say no, but whatever. Other drugs I have a problem with. A lot of relatives of mine have thrown away their lives to get their fix and recently some have OD'd. So yeah, I'm pretty much against everything that isn't marijuana.

I'm an occasional user of MDMA, and that's the only kind of drug that I take. I love the drug, and I love the people - however there's a certain part of the MDMA user population that I am really not fond of, and those would be the people I've met at raves who are only there to get "fucked up". They're the kind of people who just walk around and ask people if they're on anything, and brag to their friends about how high they are. They're so irritating and vapid, and unfortunately due to my friendship circle, I'm constantly around those kinds of people.

Besides MDMA, I don't really care what people put into themselves if they're responsible and educated on what they're doing. I can only pity those who can't control themselves, and despise those whose lack of self control affects lives of other people.

I've only tried marijuana before. Not a user, just someone who gave it a taste due to some friends asking me to. Didn't like it, never tried it again but I'm not really against the usage of it (or any illegal drugs, I guess). Just as long as it's not done in public places where there's "normal" people. And as long as the user know what he/she is doing. I've seen some fools try it only to get high af and do some weird shit.

People shouldn't have to be "successful" for their drug use to be deemed acceptable by non-users. People think they earn the right to judge because they know someone who so-called messed their life up or whatever. We all know drug addicts but few people seem to learn anything from being around them besides "drug are bad" and "can't help someone who won't help their self".
Very few people have sympathy for addicts or accept them for who they are. They only patronize and pity. Makes me wonder.

I am most likely some kind of radical in my stance towards drugs/substances. I feel complete and total legalization of all substances is the answer. I also don't really feel that age limits on who can buy what are useful, IE I dont think the legal age to buy any substance (whether it be alcohol, cigarettes, heroin, ecstasy, Prozac, etc) should be instituted. No matter what age you set, you end up criminalizing some small section of youth who decide to do it anyway. Whats better is just making it socially and morally irresponsible for parents to let their kids do whatever. If anything parents should be punished if their kid takes a drug and gets hurt or hurts someone else.

I dont want 5 year olds smoking cigarettes or shooting up just like everyone else, but to me its a matter of principle legally. I feel that it should be morally irresponsible to sell potentially dangerous objects to people under a certain age, but I dont think it should be a law that "any under age X can't buy this thing".

I also feel that governments need to quit forcibly regulating all substances. I feel that government can help play a role in making these substances safer for human use/consumption (maybe through reduced taxation if certain standards are met?), but I shouldnt need to get permission from the government to create alcohol and sell it to other people for a profit.

I only know the american perspective on healthcare which is fucked, but as a part of total legalization I feel I should have access to all prescription drugs without seeing a doctor. If I want to buy any drug, I shouldn't have to get approval from a government approved practicing doctor.

On that note I am a total drug user. Going through my psychedelic phase right now (2-cb has been my new dig lately). I dont do pills usually but ive done xannies before. will never do meth or heroin. Ive done cocaine and I enjoy it, I will end up doing it again but coke is like weed for me: the less I do it the better.
Mescaline is my favorite all round experience. Acid a close second. molly rawk third. 2-cb fourth, and ketamine my fifth favorite.

For whatever reason the world is not sure how to feel about drug users. Thanks to the US and its puppet the UN, most nations across the world have implemented authoritarian scare tactics and ignorant laws in an attempt to help people decide what is right for them. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I think that the issue with this is that a lot of people see the law as a guide book on morality, and removing the legal age would probably rub a lot of people the wrong way, and cause some other people to do some rather stupid things, such as let their kids take loads of drugs because the government says it's ok.

The most I have done, and will do, is just very rarely smoke weed.

It makes me feel so relaxed and I see the world in a much more beautiful manner when I'm high, although constantly doing it isn't something I want.

I'm not sure how I feel overall about drugs, there's a lot I'm against. Weed definitely does have its medical uses, though. I think it should at least be a lot more accessible for those who actually need it.

You should be able to use whatever you want, atleast in your own home. The risks of using it outside are pretty apparent when you can interfere in other people's life. But ultimately you should be able to choose what you want to consume.

In my tweens and early teens, my hometown got hit with the heroin epidemic like a ton of bricks. My house got his especially hard; when my parents were divorcing, our place basically became the local crack house.

When people start to discuss drugs, they focus almost exclusively on the drugs per se. There's been a lot of discussion in this thread about what drugs are okay and what aren't. But the question is not what drugs are being used. The question, rather, is, Who are using drugs? And, more importantly, how do they fit into their broader communities?

Are drug users lonely freaks on the outsides of society? Are they insular communities that minimize contact with mainstream society? Are they groups that invade a community? Are they people who live completely unremarkable lives outside their stigmatized practice? Are they pillars of the community who hide their vice from others, despite the way that their habit subtly yet unavoidably stirs the waters of the social world around them?

I've been places where using drugs is so normal that parents smoke weed in front of their kids, like how some parents drink beer in full view of everyone. Then I've been in places where the word "drugs" is spoken in tense whispers as if the name of a horrible specter. To make a categorical statement that would apply to both of these places does not seem to be worth doing.
