This wallpaper would be cool to have with a dual monitor setup and a similar one on the other one !
Disreguard MC on my desktop.

Pretty much just setup my new laptop. Guess I have to step up my ricing game, don't even have a consistent color scheme. I wonder if I should go for i3-gaps, because screen-estate is pretty important to me.
I originally wanted to go for firefox-nightly cause that's pretty customizable, but firefox just seems to crash on me :/

How do you find i3? For me it was just too much work to get it set up, so I've just been sticking with GNOME. But then I eventually wanted to have a panel so now I've set up tint2, and I feel like at this point I should probably consider moving away from GNOME, since I'm not really using it's interface.
I'll post a picture again with this to show how it looks.

I really like i3, in that although it doesn't look all that fancy, it's very productive and customisable. Almost every pixel on my screen is dedicated to programs, not my window manager. You get a really handy status bar at the bottom too.
Compared to most tiling window managers, i3 seems to provide the best balance between easy setup and configurability. The default config file is enough to get you started and productive right away, but it can be edited to do almost anything.
Here's a screenshot of my i3 setup, note that workspaces with just one window remove the title bar, this is configurable too.
If you want help or a longer chat about i3, PM me on the forums, or even better on discord.

Hmm... I pretty much just installed i3 and was done. I added a few short cuts for my multimedia keys to execute some scripts and removed window bars.
The standard shortcuts seem pretty intuitive to me.
Well I did install i3-lock and modified it to blur my desktop, but there is already an i3-lock-blur fork as far as I know.
The hardest is probably having a neat status bar.
I'm using pretty much vanilla i3-status-bar just removed a few things from the config I didn't like. Looks like all the cool people use lemonbar though and I don't know nothing about that. I experienced problems with i3 when using multiple monitors so you might need to look into that.
I really like this setup: Dotfiles: https://github.com/Marcel-Robitaille/dotfiles
Could probably just steal his lemonbar config.
Well I guess to start i3 you need a .xinitrc, but mine is very bare minimum:
#! /bin/bash
feh --randomize --bg-fill ~/wallpapers/*
exec i3
I still need to start i3 manually at every system boot with startx

Not a lot of OSX desktops here, might as well add mine
