23337 Healthcare in the US is a serious issue for me. I just can't understand how people wouldn't be fine with a moderate tax hike in exchange for providing complete medical care to everyone. Or perhaps most would be; it's just that health and prosperity isn't in the best interests of the insurance lobby. I'd welcome a tax hike for improved social services like education and health if I wasn't concerned about how the current taxes are actually being spent. With problems like an overfunded military and overpaid politicians, combined with politicians that care more about maintaining their position than actually doing their job, I really wish I had a say in where my taxes are spent. It's driving me to actually follow politics a little more so i can make an educated vote come election season. 23339 Maybe even eugenics. I'd imagine that eventually some tough decisions will have to be made with regards to population control, espicially if we keep polluting the environment.

Americans are real fans of the whole doomsday deal, eh? Yeah, we'll have to take care of that, but I'd let the future governments worry about that, since it's not nearly as close to us as most people would have you believe. They'll be making those tough calls long after we've rotted in the dirt.

Social Justice If it's access to opportunity I don't have an issue with it. Unless it involves quotas. My main issue with it are the ideologues, or SJWs, which aren't even representative of those whom they say they're fighting for (most of them tend to be young white guys). They ignore anyone who doesn't fit their narrative (which most of the time disinfranchises some of the same people they're "fighting" for). They aren't even solving the root problems that they are trying to tackle, all their "wins" are superficial (safe spaces don't solve shit, just adding more diversity doesn't solve the lack of diversity, shutting down the other side doesn't mean you're right). The worst part though is that they're just hypocrites and lack the self awareness to even realize it. The sad part is that they're actually having a chilling effect in universities and they're trying to expand it into law.

I guess we're kinda lucky over here that impartiality laws prevent TV news from being too biased in any direction. The same does not apply to print, unfortunately, but it's better than nothing. However, the government are offering the position of Ofcom (the body that maintains broadcasting standards in the UK) to a right-wing tabloid editor, after already appointing a Tory friend as Director General of the BBC.

Ahhggh... God, do I hate America's for-profit healthcare system... Y'all might wonder where I've been the past two weeks. Well, I'd kinda been waiting on this annual approval from my insurance co. for this drug that controlled my migraines. Turns out, they denied me it. They won't give it while I'm also getting long-term botox treatments.

Sad part is, I'm actually really lucky. I coulda paid a fortune for my surgery and the like. Instead I just gotta pay a quarter every month's wages to not have constant headaches.

I just don't understand how after so many families get bankrupted by medical debt, people still believe Europeans have it worse. Although, given what occurred in DC just a short while back, I suppose one should never underestimate the power of propaganda.

It sometimes like your country just has epidemic-levels of Stockhold Syndome. I mean, in the UK I wouldn't say things are great. Our health system has been underfunded for many years now, and it's showing. Unfortunately, I don't see that changing for the better without a change of government. But at least getting ill doesn't bankrupt you here (£9 per prescription item, or £29 per 3 months for unlimited prescriptions).
