The IRC server is finally setup!

You can join us on:

irc.lewd.sx

Using the port range:

6665-6667

SSL is not yet setup, as I have to re-install ircd-hybrid, but that will happen some time over the next week.

I will be keeping the Discord server open for people that still want to use it, but the IRC server is there for everyone.

So far there are only two channels; #nsfw, and #lounge

I'll be installing a web based client (probably within the next 24 hours)

And I'm in. IRC can be a little confusing though but if you're looking for a desktop client I'd suggest Hex chat perhaps? It's really easy to setup and use but maybe someone who is more tech informed could offer a better client etc. Either way I can help anyone with setting that up if needed.

The server address is "irc.lewd.sx". For the port (afaik) you just pick a number between those to use. Many modern IRC clients will use one of them by default.

Unrelated question:I can't seem to get an invite for slackchat for some odd reason or do I need to make the account externally and link it to the forum to make it work? otherwise I'll just IRC then, but that won't happen any time since I'm limited in HD space

The main forms of real-time messaging that we use is Discord and IRC at the moment. I'm on my phone so I won't link you to the Discord thread, but I'm sure you could find it by searching through Lewd's posts with Discord as a key word!

Discord is very similar to Slack.

irc is temp down, made some changes to our DNS yesterday, need to fix.

DNS has been updated and IRC should fix itself within the next 20m.

Afaik. we still don't have support for secure connections via TLS. I know, it's probably not high priority because there is little to no activity on lewds IRC network, but I still think TLS would help to make the whole thing more attractive. We all care about security, right? :3

If we can't get TLS up, maybe we should better start with just a channel on rizon or something to gain some popularity, and if there is a need later, we can still switch to our own network.

Just my thoughts...

Just a heads up, I'll be in this IRC most of the time.

I don't like discord near as much as IRC, for obvious reasons.
