Have you ever played a game where you felt fully invested in the world? Where you feel like you're truly in there, like you are you're characters and each task handed to you is more thrilling than the last? I have, and it's Monster Hunter. I've been played the series every since Tri on the PSP and I haven't skipped a beat since ( Tri > FU > 3U > 4U ).

As you can guess from the name, Monster Hunter is a game that is centralized around hunting monsters. More often than not there will be a flagship monster that introduces something new to the series with every edition (Tigrex introduced Brutes, Brachydios introduced Slime/Blastblight, Nerscylla introduced Insects, Lagiacrus introduced aquatic battles, etc.). The game hosts a story and a multiplayer mode, more often than not the former is meant to prepare you for the latter. The story for each game is different depending on the region where your hunter resides. In 3U, for example, your hunter takes residence in a port-village who nearly floats in the water, a beast beneath the depths threatening to knock it all down. In 4U, a mysterious virus is plaguing monsters both big and small, throwing them into a frenzy.
So essentially, kill big monstah.

Duh, you didn't think you'd be going out hunting monsters naked, did you? If you did, get out. If you don't like grinding, then I suppose this is a warning already. The game allows you to craft and upgrade your weapons, which require monsters parts, much like your armor (except armor needs special stones to upgrade instead of specific parts). Due to many of the looks, be it classical or event armors, many people have taken to calling themselves Fashion Hunters, essentially a hunter who has become good enough at the game that they can sacrifice function for form. Monster Hunter also has a habit of releasing DLC, seeming to take a one-pack-per-month pace, all of which have been free since the very beginning of the series, apparently Capcom not willing to milk this series out dry.

Closing Statement
I'm really not sure what to say beyond that everyone should really play this game and, hopefully, get introduced into the series before X (the upcoming MH game) comes out! Multiplayer is run like a lobby-based system and is easily the best online functionality of the series, meaning Lewdpeeps can play with other Lewdpeeps if they so desire!
The game has been out for a bit already and runs for about $30-$40 in America, depending on location, and this is me bringing up that they're still pushing out DLC for the game, all of which is completely free.
So pls lewdbutts. Git gaem. Git gud. Kill terrorist monstah.
