I don't think it's something that should go in the "post options" as a checkbox though, as it's not really related to the post in any way.

I'm considering changing the theme of the quick reply from Monokai to something else, sure Monokai is fucking great, but it doesn't fit in with out theme as well as I would like.

Maybe, but there's already a load of great pre-made themes for the editor.
