to make our move to the new forum software as smooth as possible, i will be reorganising all of the categories. along with this change, group categories will be removed. threads that are applicable outside of groups will be moved to appropriate categories, threads that are exclusive to groups (eg. general chat, group rules, etc) will be removed. if you notice the categories look weird, don't worry!

Oh hey Lewd 3.0 Group stuff you can delete I feel. They are all dead. Other threads think best is to keep those that get more participation. So in case a old thread is posted on dont get called necroing a thread. Or multiple threads on the same topic. Hope it'll look epic 😃

might as well give a small update on how we're going with the migration. it is pretty much all ready to go, the only things that are stopping us from going live being; there's an error in the private messaging plugin that we're using - it was updated yesterday and i made a bug report about it this morning, awaiting a response to that. needs steph to set it up & test it - at the moment it's just setup locally on my pc need 2 figure out how we're gonna handle the rotating banners at the top of the page.

in the migration, we will be losing: the recent changes box the top posters box the online users box post IDs (the pink number to the right hand side of posts) profile bios custom user titles (this feature exists but existing titles won't be migrated) custom profile banners (this feature exists but existing images won't be migrated) custom username colours private messages (this feature exists but existing private messages won't be migrated). pagination - pages themselves are gone o.o we will be looking to add some of these features or provide a way to access unmigrated data in the future. we will be gaining: better everything - seriously, the new software is so much nicer to use than the current one. it's beta software but its so much better than what we have now. cleaner design - lewd is currently beautiful, but with a lot of corners cut, there's things that just don't look good or are out of place, the new software is better in that regard. better codebase - mybb's code is very old, and with that age it comes with a lot of spaghetti, the new software is built upon laravel with a mithril frontend, extensions are managed with composer random features aren't unexplainably dead - including session management & the last active timer post reactions - you'll be able to react with a handful of different emoji - including hearts. moderator tools - atm there's basically no tools for moderators to deal with anything - not even the ability to delete posts without visiting the edit screen. the new software has all the basic tools functional & more. email alerts - instead of just appearing in the notification list, you'll be able to receive email alerts for everything that you'd normally get a notification for. report posts - this will actually work feels very good 2 use much motivation wow might buy some ads when it's live don't really wanna give much more away, but it's gonna be good. with the new software - the easiest way to contribute to lewd's development is to develop new extensions for the software. you could be really nice and open source them for other forums using the software, make them privately for lewd, or sell them on their extension marketplace!
