Why not open the Groups?

@[deleted] is off having adventures at the moment, but how'd y'all feel about running a query and letting people join any group they want? I really don't see the point of them anymore, especially given the people who founded them are largely long gone.

I realize this is a stopgap measure till we overhaul the site (circa two-thousand-never), but I think it'd be nice to pick through long-forgotten corners of the forum. Plus, I know someone who'd love to wear Yandere's blood-red font color. How's about?

Open those who's leaders are long gone. Just change to Anyone Can Join to those who's leaders are Mia or banned

A lot of groups are abandoned true but at least a few that still have their leaders around
I'd say only open up the abandoned groups
Like the ones whose leaders haven't logged in in 3 or 6 months

i think when 2lewd is released (sooner than expected owo), i will be purging any inactive groups and eventually coming up with an idea of how to make them work better.

one thing i'm kinda toying with is just letting everyone change their colour to whatever they want and then only keeping groups that actually have discussion in them.

at launch the groups functionality will be kinda meh, you'll be able to post/view threads in the groups you're already in but won't be able to make or join any groups.

As things currently are, I think that opening the groups (or just getting rid of them and moving threads to appropriate categories) would be a good idea, maybe except for Lewd/Devil manor, as maybe some slightly more personal stuff gets said there, but then again, it's technically an anonymous forum, so i dunno.

The lewd manor was and always will be meant to he a private lewd section. If groups are going to be open for anyone just delete it when that day comes. I do not want any of its threads moved to the lewd section. It'll have no reason to be around as would just be 2 lewd sections. Manor was meant to be more open/personal so members could discuss things that in the public lewd section seemed to not be a thing other than image threads is all that is there nowadays. If it ain't private just delete when 2lewd comes up thankz ^^

Since color will be without group. You can delete the devil manor group. It was just made so I could have a red color which looked HORRIBLE with the background (hence now pink) so yeah. Rx and clickbait should also join cah
