I thought about starting this thread for anyone interested about learning game development(with a focus on anime style, and advanced engines like UE4, Unity, Cryengine, etc), so we could discuss about what are the tools and engines for different skill levels, things related to development, etc. (Or maybe even making a small team to make a game together)
Or for someone more experienced, talking about how everything started for example, or suggestions.
Also, if someone makes a first game, we could also use this thread to give feedback so the person can improve.
My story (hopefully it can help someone)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I started playing with RPG Maker XP about 10 years ago(not very often) and stopped after a while.
Then I learned Unity in this course a few years ago, but haven't used it often after it. Didn't make any full game in Unity.
Started playing again with RPG Maker MV, I think the programming logic I got from Unity helped me a lot to make more complex things in RMMV. The first game I made had only 25 minutes of gameplay and very simple mechanics, but they got a bit better in the sequels
(always searched Google and YouTube for tutorials and used a lot of plugins).
Now I'm learning UE4, started from zero with this tutorial, would recommend it to anyone who has programming knowledge to try it since it's very short and gave me enough knowledge to make this game using Blueprints and some assets from the UE4 Marketplace(always searching Google for help when I needed):

Now (trying) learning UE4 C++
