I've been wanting to code a VA-11 Hall-A theme for Lewd since at least summer of last year. Seein' as I was too sick to write and had off from work today, I figured I'd finally take a hack at it.
DISCLAIMER: Despite how much I adore its aesthetics, I still haven't had a chance to play VA-11 Hall-A. If you've got any changes that might make this theme more faithful to the original game, feel free to modify it however you'd like! ^^
In case anyone's wondering, the colors are based on danger/u/, a rather comfy text board based on the actual danger/u/ from the game. I've tried to keep things as simplistic as possible, save a couple of colors to accommodate Lewd's topography.
Now, bear in mind: This is just a minor mod of a theme I hastily cobbled together from scratch two years ago. I've picked up some valuable experience since then, but I can't guarantee I caught all the bugs.
FOR CHROME USERS
Just download Stylish for your browser, click the Stylish icon, select "Write a new style for Lewd.sx", and paste the new stylesheet (via PasteBin) into the blank text area. Then, specify that you want it to affect all URLs on domain "lewd.sx"; copy/pasting the full URL with "https://" doesn't seem to work. Hit Save, and you should see the results before you've even refreshed.
NOTE: I've encountered a rare bug wherein you can't install/update/write any styles using Stylish. This appears to be a problem with either the extension/add-on or Chrome itself, so my only recommendation would be to reinstall your browser.
FOR FIREFOX USERS
Firefox's version of Stylish decorates every page you visit unless you restrict it to a certain domain in the stylesheet. As such, here's the special file for Firefox and Firefox Mobile users.
THINGS I NEED TO FIX
User pages Done.
The Quick Reply box. It works, but I need to change the color of the autocomplete tooltips.
Nested Quotes They actually didn't need fixing.
The Reputation Page
Notifications and messages Fix'd.
Make flaired username text more visible. All the currently-popular groups should be fine though.
Make text more visible in general All text is now a stark white, save pinktext which is now a minty green.
The footer It ain't fixed, but most people don't notice it anyways.
The Search page
Spoilers, maybe? I haven't checked. Spoilers seem to be alright.
Pinned threads. As it turns out, it wasn't too hard.
Other fonts and special characters. I'd reckon they look alright. Maybe even better than before.
Get a better header image. Originally I'd opted for this portrait of Anna, but the white of her face obscured navigation buttons.
The Login page
Make userbar colors equivalent to username colors. (Particularly for the Optimist group.)
Black editor when replying to a thread. I fiddled with it for an hour and got nowhere.
Reorganizing code. The theme works, but it's a goddamn mess.
THINGS I CAN'T FIX
And... That's pretty much it, really! Mad props to @Melancholy for letting me host the custom font on Lewd's server, and @[deleted], whose theme I'm still shamelessly plagiarizing using as a base. I had a lotta fun making this, so I hope you guys enjoy! š
