If you're looking for something new, exciting, and interesting, take a look at SourceMage. It's a libre GNU+Linux OS with a really interesting packaging system. They're source-based like Gentoo, but they claim that the package manager does all the work for you (I haven't tested it myself yet).
Alternatively, you could give OpenSUSE Tumbleweed a go. It's a rolling distribution like Arch, but all of the packages that are packaged officially by OpenSUSE themselves (and some that aren't) go through what's called "OpenQA", which basically makes sure that the software isn't broken before it's shipped. The whole thing is automated, and they often have working updates before Arch does. They also have less broken and more up-to-date KDE packages than KDE Neon, which is officially maintained by the KDE team. I have used TW for over a year now and I have only had things break like 4 times, which is pretty good for a rolling release distro.
EDIT:
I should mention that SourceMage is (by default) completely FOSS, but has repos containing proprietary software if you want them.
OpenSUSE allows you to pick what repos (free and non-free) you want when you install it.
