I'm still quite new to the whole torrenting scene so my experience is a mite limited. Nyaa.se was my go-to for most of my needs since it had animus and H-games. Now that it's dead I've mostly used nyaa.pantsu.cat and tokyotosho.info to fill the void. For general/misc stuff I've relied on 4chan's /t/. It has a decent mix of stuff available. Laintracker is the only private tracker that I've used. It's small but growing. That one's centered around cyberpunk content but there's other stuff there too.

For music, I usually user RuTracker. If I can't find what I want there, I'll go to TPB, Jpopsuki, Redacted, or BakaBT.
For TV shows, pretty much just TPB.
For movies, TPB or BlueBird.
For anime, XDCC or BakaBT.

im in ₁₁ private trackers and use most of them but rutracker and animebytes are my most frequented

very difficult economy.  going price for requests is ~ 1GB/$1.  nobody can build ratio any other way really, there's only been one album on freeleech since i've joined and it's been months.  everyone's just sitting on ratio from like late 2016 when there was sitewide freeleech or something

This. I don't bother downloading shit from Redacted because I have no way to make back that ratio. Sucks because it could be an invaluable resource for me, but it's just somethin' I check periodically to see if I still have an account.

I download one or two albums a month and seed them on my home server and have no problem building ratio just from seeding. I even put in a good few requests a while back. I don't see the problem personally unless you're downloading constantly.

i don't download constantly because i'll never be able to make the ratio back.  i have a number of perfect flac albums that haven't been snatched (not all free bandcamp).  chances are you had your account during the sitewide freeleech and you have buffer to mess around with

BakaBT and Nyaa.si is pretty much all I use nowadays. If I set up a new seedbox I might start torrenting things more often bc I don't like leaving my main PC on unless it's to get a 1:1 ratio.

Nya si or pantsu, it almost always has what I look for, if it doesn't I use Google and Bing to search for it. Haven't been lucky with VNs in JP though(no seed)
