Every time I go on /jp/ I get stressed about rampant westernization of Japan. See this, someone thinking that Japan should bury its characteristic power lines to fit western tastes:

Japan Times is also Huffington Post-level nonsense, so I'm not taking it too seriously, but it's disheartening to see trends of trying to accommodate western interests at the expense of what makes Japan such a distinctive country, down to details like power lines.
I hate being this negative. The idea of moving to Japan and living in that culture is what my whole life is about and the idea of the culture losing all that makes it special is horrifying 🙁
