I recently have gotten into the VN world. I have played NekoPara, Fate Stay Night and Katawa Shoujo so far, but the visual novel that made me spend the whole night awake was Saya no Uta. I loved the elements of gore mixed with all sex scenes and the cute main girl. I am looking forward to recommendations of VNs that have similarities with Saya no Uta. Is it a unique type of VN or there are others like this?
Corpse party and Higurashi are both very violent, though neither have h-scenes. I highly reccomend Higurashi, it is a murder mystery/horor game with incredible music. It is also VEERRY long, so it can take a while.
