Don't know. I joined Hummingbird and MAL at roughly the same time because I didn't like Anime-Planet. I stuck with HB because of the UI, and I still stick with it now that it's Kitsu because of the UI, the activity and groups. I don't know if that is any reason to switch or not, because I don't really know what MAL has to offer because I barely use(d) it.
