ITT: Anime tropes that just bug you

I'll start:

It's ANOTHER fucking action-romance comedy
where the main characters are highschoolers
and the main dude is just meek enough for any Nip teen/young adult to project himself onto
yet still badass enough kick an ass if need be
and inexplicably attracts the affection of a roster of cute girls
who are somehow the only characters with amazing technicolor hair
and have zero personality past their archetype
yet still manage to be more interesting than our MC
and the entire thing culminates in the main dude defeating the baddie because HURR DURR POWER OF FRIENDSHIP

You pretty much summed up all my least favorite things about anime, so I'm at a total loss

I don't hate tsunderes but I can't help but feel like they're overrused in comparison to other personality types. Though I think the tsundere boom is somewhat dying now.

Maybe it's just because they always make the cutest girl a bitch and that's heartbreaking 🙁

It always kills me when an otherwise interesting sounding premise is bogged down by the generic high school setting and everything that comes along with it.

This has gotta be the worst for me. You can have high school student characters without the story taking place in the school 90% of the time. See JoJo part 4.

has anyone else noticed that mc always sits in the seat second furthest to the back of the class next to the window in literally every anime with a high school setting?

TBF, that's partially pragmatism on the writer's part.

Fewer background character to draw
They can do weird stuff and no one will see it
Protag-kun can have his eye caught by a plot device outside

Sure, it seems like a cliche... but that's because it is.

I don't mind the anime only people. I just hate their "memes". I hate reading manga on a computer screen so if I didn't have a tablet I probably wouldn't have read the other parts.

I hate it when the MC and crew are fighting the final boss, and when it's all "oh no! final boss is 2 OP!!"

MC pulls out last minute power that had practically no presence it was even a possibility except for maybe that foreshadowing in episode 3 so small you just easily miss it.
I mean power of friendship is still number one on my pet peeves, but come on least you could do is show that the rest of the party is there for anything but emotional support!

First thing I thought of was Kirito pulling out dual-wielding out of his ass. The only foreshadowing was the episode before(?) where he had a second sword made. Then he goes on to practically solo the floor boss.
