According to this blog post by Oculus, the Oculus Rift is officially coming out Q1 2016. https://www.oculus.com/blog/first-look-at-the-rift-shipping-q1-2016/ I have personally tried both the DK1 and DK2, and they seem a bit too pixelated for my liking, despite being pretty emmersive. Definetively going to try out the consumer version, though if its still as shitty and pixelated I'd rather wait to see what Steam VR will be like.

IIRC Oculus said themselves back when SteamVR was announced that it outperforms the Rift, so yeah, I'll probably just get the steamVR when that releases.

There was this one video of someone in Japan who managed to emulate having sex with a programmed in-sync onahole hooked up to the computer, and VR goggles with a pretty representative H-game character on the screen, it looked pretty immersive.

We might not actually be too far off from that possibility at this point, surprisingly.

I tried out the Rift the other day and I thought it was great.

Since Oculus Rift has been worked on for I believe about two years and it's still "pixelated", I'm curious to see how well the Steam VR turns out in comparison
The whole pixelated look is because they can not physically create screens small enough to not give off that effect. Because you can only fit so many pixels onto a screen and they are magnifying it a bunch it makes it look low resolution. So I am guessing they would have to sacrafice size and weight to make the resolution better.

At least that is what I think.
