Our community event last weekend went pretty well; and I'd love to make these a weekly thing. A few things that concerned me about the event that I'd like to address with the next one: The time wasn't a time that anyone living in Europe could make it to. Barely anyone knew about it - which was sort of deliberate, as we were just trialing things before deciding whether we make these a weekly occurrence. While I loved the movie, a few people weren't as interested; we should put some more effort into deciding what it is that we're doing. I do have a few ideas as to what we do for the next one, but I'd like to hear suggestions from people before I decide on what it is that we're doing. Possible ideas: Zandronum - @"Camo Yoshi" runs a few servers for this; and I had a lot of fun playing it with him last weekend, I think it'd be great to have a community event of playing a few of the game types. Some overmeme skirmishes Another movie. An anime marathon. Possible future, more organised ideas: An overmeme tournament A chess tournament? A tournament for pretty much any game that we could get a bunch of people to play.

I wasn't able to make it last week, unfortunately. I'll keep an eye out on whatever develops. I support anime nights / movie nights and the like. Also, I don't have Overwatch.

Another movie, try and get something not everyone will have seen but those who have will enjoy again. I have a Blu-Ray copy of Ninja Scroll that I could try and stream is anyone is interested 🙂 Also finding a really good streaming provider is another massive thing. Even possibly running an event with Crunchyroll might be possible, if you can sort that sort of thing out as others have. Note for the Zandronum servers: If we decided to go forward with this I will set up a video tutorial for installing and configuring Zandronum, as well as a list of some different mods we could do. There's a maaaaaasive amount of mods out there that can drastically change the gameplay, so we have lots of variety to pick from. Zandronum itself is free and runs on most PCs as long as they're no older than 10 years old, and it runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Doom and Doom II (often Doom II is more commonly used for online play with mods) are not free but can be gotten from Steam for $5 each or from GOG for $10 for the two. You can also try your luck searching around.

I wouldn't mind watching another movie something like Redline. Yeah the time was 3am for me and the film kept killing it's self for I gave up n went to sleep.

PIggybacking off that, I wouldn't mind if Lewd had an always-on Minecraft server either. Survival, but nothing too-too serious. We'd be able to explore, make our own town, stockpile resources; it'd be fun!

That said though, it's probably best to stick with stuff like movie nights for the time being. At least until they start to gain more traction among the userbase.

But seriously every forum thinks its this amazing idea to make a Minecraft server and they always fail, always end up dead. I can name at least 5 forums (or more) that did a Minecraft server then dropped dead. I think movie nights are fine and fun for anyone and get anime films that people would not usually watch or even 1 off episodes or OVAs like Mars of Destruction.

Yeah... On second thought, you're right.

That said though, I'd absolutely adore having a Shitty Movie Night of sorts. Just as long we get to riff on it in the chatroom.

Its fun when we all have to watch the same shit and comment shit about it even if it is a good film we can all do it together, and like a community we should then discuss the film/thing we watched just like a book club would.
