I couldn't be assed searching through all of the threads that already exist, so I thought I'd make this thread and sticky it. I recently finished Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? (Is this a Zombie?) ; and I enjoyed it. All of the characters are cute af and there's a fairly nice plot.

Started watching Nanatsu no Taizai 2nd season, and old Berserk series.

Not really watching any past anime lately, watching the new Berserk and Mob Psycho 100. Last anime I watched was Yukikaze. It had some pretty cool air combat scenes, but not much else going for it.

What I can say for sure is that I'm not really a fan of high school love triangle things (unless it's a yuri), ecchi, harem xD

I started watching Turn A Gundam and it's fucking great! Honestly, I sometimes think I have watched so much anime that there are no shows left anymore that will get me excited. Well, not yet... ^_^

Currently watching Now and Then, Here and There. Holy shit, this series turns dark incredibly quickly after a fairly standard "shounen-esque" first episode. It's funny that this is technically an "Isekai" show, but it couldn't be further in tone and quality from the heaps of trash (imho) most isekai anime. Highly recommended!

Recently I've been interested in a show titled Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, which follows newly-minted middle school graduate, Mirai, as she begins her first day of summer vacation, only to be caught with her kid brother in one of the largest earthquakes ever witnessed in Japan's heartland.

Essentially, it's the small-screen equivalent of a disaster film, though unlike most disaster movies, this one appears extremely promising as far as I can tell. I've always been enamored with stories about what would happen if the modern, interconnected society we take for granted were to suddenly break down. We've gotten a milder version of this during the Coronavirus crisis (although the US and Brazil seem to have sprinted in the other direction), but the event in the series involves entire buildings collapsing and countless trapped, injured, or dead. What follows is a tale of drama, survival, regret, and tragedy. In other words, it's some damn fine TV.

Just finished this over the past two days, since I'm trying to develop the habit of watching anime.

That ending... My god. It wrecked me, loves. ;_;

The series' realism is its greatest strength. It wasn't sad till the final act. And yet... I don't think I've cried as much for any piece of media.

I wish there were more anime like this.

I've been greatly enjoying my delve into the realm of The Twelve Kingdoms. I'll wager you haven't heard of it, as it's quite old now and lacks appeal for the average knuckle-dragger; but I'd describe it as a rather unique 2002 fantasy anime that reminds me a lot of InuYasha, right down to centering around a typical Japanese schoolgirl [ this time with two friends! ] that gets involuntarily pulled into a fantastic world.

Unlike InuYasha though, the world of TTK is anything but welcoming to our MC. Danger lurks both in the skies and in the shadows, and within the opening episodes we realize the people of this land seek to exterminate visitors like her. What ensues is a gripping and rather heart-wrenching tale of an individual driven past all known limits, furnished with a detailed and beautifully-drawn world (for 2002, mind) and complete with the large cast of characters typical of high fantasy.

I've found I especially relate to Youko [ our red-haired, olive-skinned MC ], so I'm really excited for this one. Can't wait to watch more. ^~^

Hah! I've heard of it and I've watched the first half (season?). 🙂 It's a great show indeed. One of the better fantasy animes I've seen and one of the few truely high fantasy shows, as you mention. It's technically an Isekai show I guess, but without the "the fantasy world is actually a video game world, huehue" stuff. Good show!

I already practiced getting links down on ygopro but decided to pick up vrains because I want to see what happens, heard it was good. Also it might help me hone understanding of speed duels more, alongside actually getting to (hopefully) start using that style of play when i get a set of them for one of my presents this holiday season.
