Im actually rethinking this now, I just saw the press release for the AMD Zen cpu (8 Core w/ Hyperthreading) and the RX 480 retailed at $200.

I just want a PC that can run ffxiv 1080p on 144fps as cheap as possible

That would mean changing your mobo and probably your PSU. Are you using newegg to calculate your buy?

Yeah newegg/amazon. My psu is a Corsaid CX750, can easily satisfy AMD's power hungry products. However their new architechure significantly lowers their TDP, the RX480 coming at 150W equivalent to the 1070, they say zen reduces about "40%"

If you are not into overclocking, that PSU is just fine. I don't really trust in AMD's multiple-core processors, i own a FX-8150 which is an 8-core slime ultra inferior compared to an i5 from 3rd generation (4-cored processor) in terms of performance.

Anyway, AMD will be always a cheaper option.
