Man, this comment aged like a fine milk.

Haven't heard much about it except for the whole mess with Twitch. I'm just waiting until it's finished tbh.

imo he's probably not going to finish it for the next few years because all he does is stream or whatever
It ain't gonna happen, boys. Cool concept, but my god am I glad I didn't spend money on this dude.
YanDev's a fucking gold mine. I'm surprised it took as long as it did for a lot of people to realize what a joke he is. Citing time spent reading emails as the reason why he doesn't work much is the funniest thing ever.

I think I heard something like the framerate dropping by 5 or 10 for every character put into the game because the code is so horribly inefficient. Surprise, surprise, he went to school for animation and not programming. The most baffling to me about the development is that he theoretically didn't have to do anything himself. He had a rabid army of teenagers voluntarily making assets for him and definitely could have afforded to hire more experienced programmers to pump the game out fast for mad cash. That's the power of ego, I guess. And speaking of his fanbase, they're a pretty entertaining sideshow to YanDev. They defend everything he does to a zealous degree and are unrelenting to his critics. There was even an incident where one of them went onto Kiwi Farms specifically to flame people that were making fun of YanDev.
It's weird to think back to when I first heard of this project during one of his weekly update threads on /v/. I didn't think it would have gotten nearly as popular as it did, nor would I have thought that it would still be unfinished five years later. The best we could hope for is that someone else more competent decides to run with the idea.
