Purchase Koins

I am all for having free things, but I am also for having different options to chose from. Currently the only way to obtain Otaku is through Koins. While this is glorious as it allows for people who aren't swimming in cash to attain it as well, it kind of creates another small issue. By making the upgrade free, the site will lose some funding. Hence why I propose this;

Give us an option to buy Koins with real money.

This allows for people who want to buy Otaku or future things with their money.

From a forum-funding perspective, that'd be brilliant. From a user-viewpoint.. Idk man, the point of the Otaku badge is to show that you're pretty darn dedicated. There could, perhaps, be a separate donator's badge? I think that'd work better. Maybe a $20 donation for a supporter/donator badge + some exclusive emoticons?

The point was to show that you are a special-little snowflake. You can get it without being dedicated as it is right now. (Through having a service like a graphics service for example.) So it serves to give us some funding and give us more options to chose from.

Tbh it would cause more trouble because people would sell Koins cheaper than the site and then there it is.. Also it would increase amount of shitposts when community is larger for people trying to sell koins. If they make it so you cant sell ,well might work out.

Unlikely as all hell. For a start say the community does become rather large an influx of shit posting would permeate the site and we already have one shit poster @[deleted] so I think I'll pass there. The second scenario would be as Ryuuji described "people trying to sell koins" would probably sell it for lower than what the website offers coins at (if @Aiba decides to go down that route) which would lead to a loss in potential revenue.

If anything, I think we would just create an upgrade rank which has the option of buying it with real money, instead of selling koins for real money.

An upgrade account can sure be exclusive but I don't think so out of reach the the regular normal section.
