What is the best of Ghiblis?

Lately, I have been craving to watch Ghibli movies. My utmost favorites are Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. I would love suggestions of anime series or movies that are similiar in plot as well as educational. 🙂 Nothing beats a really good anime that sucks you in completely into the fantasy world of awesomeness. I would love for suggestions and a quick summary on why you enjoyed the suggested anime to me.

I personally liked, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle and Grave of Fireflies. I enjoyed all of the movies I listed simply because.... Well... They appealed to me when I was younger... That's all there really is to say about it, without re-watching them I wouldn't really be able to give you a summary on why I liked them

Yes, Spirited Away is my favorite too. My other favorites is Ponyo and Kiki's Delivery Service but the reasons why I like them is personal (mainly because it brings back memories) and I think the boy characters in both movies are the ones that I personally can sympathize with. I also like the dynamics/interactions of Sosuke with his mother and Kiki with Ursula in both movies as well.

I have watched grave of fireflies. It had me and my cousin in tears! That's one of the reasons why I like the Ghibli movies so much. Although anime and all ages can watch. They all have some lesson to be taught as well as it's simplicity. It's soothing and quite entertaining. What others can be recommended?

Top three for me would have to be Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. I especially like Princess Mononoke in how it presents both sides of the conflict as valid, both the town and forest spirits had good/bad aspects and were trying to do what they felt was right.

Howl is the peak of the Ghibli movies... though you're right, Princess Mononoke was pretty awesome.
