Physical storage oughta count, right~? Well, about seven years ago, when I'd just graduated high school, I happened upon a small wooden box that someone had left for collection by the curb. Now, this thing was extremely heavy. From its dials and references to radio bands I knew it had something to do with audio, but unfortunately, that was also the first of several periods in life when I couldn't form any lasting new memories, not to mention my old ones kept getting erased. I left it in the garage to collect dust, and eventually some poor soul took it upon themselves to place it on the top shelf of this storage rack.
Fast-forward to today, and it turns out that it's actually a vintage stereo receiver! A Marantz Model 2270 to be precise, manufactured between '71 and '75. I have to say, despite being in the garage for the better part of a decade, the exterior has held up extraordinarily well. All the buttons work too, and the knobs feel smooth. It doesn't power on of course, and I'll need the help of a construction crane just to get it down. Buut, if it's just a burnt resistor or blown capacitor or two, it'll be really fun to restore it to working condition someday. c:
