Why exactly? I personally like the idea of being able to reply without bumping but I could perfectly understand disliking it because of how many people use it as a downvote.
But it only takes one person to age it to the top of the stack. People can do the equivalent of a sage through simply not replying to a thread they don't like, so really I'm all for it.
