It's so cute and powerful and almost nothing like it. I found this interview recently and learned about it. I need one but the orders are full and i need to wait until they ship the next batch to then get on the list. Full linux terminal and wifi for server management + play games and edit their source code on the fly + make music on the fly + communicate with others via irc <#

It seems pretty cool, but I don't know if I'd be able to really find a use for one - it would be too slow for any of my applications.

By the way, what's with the guy dressed as a pastor?

I'm first going to use it mainly to for managing servers and irc but i want to experiment with the music production application and then use it for cjdns meshnet since it has wifi.

I pray none do so they can keep their libre stance and not be asshats. This coud power meshnets and free a lot of things

Keep in mind they are already using Allwinner chips, and that company is infamous for violating the GPL. I am not sure about most of the software on the CHIP, (looks like pretty basic forked armhf Debian) but I know that the PICO8 emulator is not even close to free/libre software.

Regardless, I still like the device. I am a huge fan of the cheap ARM boards, and I think that the Pocket CHIP is a really cute device, and I plan on picking one up if I can find it on eBay for around $50. I almost picked one up the other day but got outbid at the last second.

Yeah, you could. It is in fact running an ARM based Debian fork, so you have access to the standard set of Debian+GNU utilities, such as openSSH, and most likely even a VNC/RDP viewer. I bet you could also get openXenManager to run on it (depending on the python libraries it requires, I haven't checked) if you run XenServer on any x86 based machines.
