http://hubski.com/ is a nice one. its layout is a bit like reddit but it doesnt really work with upvotes or downvotes, they have their own system of tags and buddy system. They value thoughtful posts and interesting content which is really refreshing

It's a website I came across when I asked around on /qa/ for any textboards. There's a rather absurd number of boards compared to the userbase so it's pretty slow (they even have a stray imageboard for some reason) but because of that you can still find some threads from as far back as 2005 so it functions as a sort of time capsule that you can still contribute to.
