Will Lewd.sx be Open Sourced?

I think it would be nice if Lewd were Open Source, especially so people could contribute some stuff like maybe adding chan like quick reply boxes.

hm, i'm not so sure that i want to open source it.

among a sea of forums that already exist and get made daily, besides our wonderful members, the theme and features are the only things that make us unique.

at the same time though, i think open source-ing it would be kinda cool; but only if people actually want to contribute.

It's a double edged sword really. We could have members contribute and make lewd amazing, along side our already existing mybb modifications, at the cost of possible lewd copies.

I think the Senpai and others are working on a rewrite altogether.

Most of the board is already open source in the form of mybb and its plugins. The theme is something I think should be kept closed, because it's what makes lewd look unique.

If I was making a lewd rewrite, then the open-source bits would be the backend logic, not the styles and HTML teplates.

I figure that we could have a private/semiprivate repo or 'team' that only lewd members would be allowed to be accepted to, and then contributions could be made from there; with Senpai having the final say if any update is accepted or rejected.

but that's already a thing.

only @"Ayu" and myself have access to it at the moment though.

It is already technically a thing, senpai, but I meant that you should expand the scope to the whole website as opposed to just the theme. That would also let us make improvements/move away from MyBB.
