There's a lot of gay weebs. I don't get it. It's not as if anime has too much yaoi stuff, especially in cutesy moe anime, but there seems to be a huge number of weeaboos who like being lewd with other weebs, even if it's just being fap buddies. Not that I'm complaining...

Perhaps that could be because at a younger age, being gay meant that they felt disconnected from most other people because they didn't feel "normal" or so. Or perhaps they were bullied as a result of their sexuality, leading them to instead seek friendship and acceptance online, where otaku culture is more prominent. I reckon it's also the reason that the community tends to have a larger proportion of nerdy people.

Why do people get so ornery about stuff that doesn't affect them?

IIRC, two years is the maximum length for negotiations unless the remaining members unanimously vote to extend it.
