Don't. Get into something that makes you happy, something you enjoy the challenge of. My brother was in a very similar position as you, followed me into networking and found he did not enjoy it one bit. He re-evaluated himself and took a look at what might make him happy. He's now found a new study that is challenging, but also brings him enjoyment. Sure the money is good for networking, but I'd rather be happy making $30-40K/year then being stuck doing something I find insufferable. It's your life, do what you want with it and fuck the people that tell you otherwise.
