Ahh, losing your files is not fun.
I was tricked into formmating my C:\ drive once. It was last year actually, not like when I was 12 or anything. Lost a lot of stuff that I've been accumulating over the years (like fonts). I wasn't angry, just felt sad for falling for something like that.
@Loko
Take my energy!
I like to think of it like osu. When our rank decays for months it can feel bad but we know we're improving the more we play. Not being able to see the progress until we've improved a lot to make new top play can be quite demotivating but hang in there.
What I like to do to improve is just get a calendar and set a realistic and simple goal like "study for 3 hours a day, every day". Then any day that I study for 3 hours I put a mark on the calendar. Eventually it'll form a chain and you really won't want to break that chain. Some day when I get home late instead of going to sleep I just stay up to study because I want to keep the chain going. When my friends ask me to play league, I refuse because that game suck, but also, because I want to study to keep the streak. Doing this helps me see my progress and avoid thinking about not improving. I didn't have to rely on feeling motivated (which is never enough) to study. It went on for a few months without any problem. I felt like a champion, unstoppable, I felt like I could conquer the universe. Then one day I became sick and couldn't get up to study for a few days. The chain broke and so I never try that again lol. True story. But my grade improved a lot after that.
