I never was any good at these introductory posts...
Hello, everyone! I've been searching for quite some time now for a new community in which to participate; my old Internet home sort of fell all to pieces, and none of the other places I've attempted to join in the recent past really worked out for me.
Not too long ago, however, I discovered this forum, and based on what I've seen during my lurking it looks especially nice. As such, I'd like to stop lurking and instead actually try to contribute. I hope very much that we get along. ^^
As for my interests, I find programming and computers in general to be interesting (as you likely gathered from the title of the thread). More broadly speaking, however, I'm fascinated by the inner workings and structure of most everything, ranging anywhere from computers to neurobiology, psychology to literary theory, and so on.
In terms of music, I'm not all that picky, but my favorite genres include gabber, breakcore, industrial, hardcore, house, and techno. Generally speaking, anything electronica and/or ambient is good, though I prefer harsher sounds. I'm also a fan of a lot of different Vocaloid music. To throw out a few names, I like DJ Technorch, The Caretaker, goreshit, Mitchie M, sasakure.UK, monaca:factory, kiichi, QUADROPHENIA, and Dixie Flatline.
As far as anime goes, my favorites include Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Bokurano, Azumanga Daioh, Cowboy Bebop, Shinsekai Yori, Steins;Gate, and Lucky Star. I do have a couple of manga to mention as well: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (the movie was good, but the manga has so much more depth across the board); Yotsuba&!; Parasyte; and pretty much anything by Junji Ito.
Er, this post ended up being mostly a bunch of lists, but there you go. よろしく and all that jazz.
