I was wondering what kind of headphones and stuff you use, because I noticed, while all my music is nicely uncompressed, I don't really own anything to profit from that.
So I was hoping to get inspired by you guys. ^^

Currently using a pair of Sennheiser HD598s. While I love them in the mids/highs, I feel that they are extremely lacking in the bass department. So at the moment I am waiting for my pair of Fostex TX-X00 headphones to arrive - hopefully they'll be better ^^

Logitech UE6000, bought them for like €50 but sound similar to headphones in the €150-€200 price range (I've compared them to many other headphones at work). If you want a decent pair of cans for a fair price you could always opt for the Audio Technica ATH-M50x:s.

I've got a set of Razer Blacksharks for comp cs:go games. It's got a pretty decent mic and nice bass so I can hear footsteps. I've got an old pair of Audio Technicas for listening to music though.

I use Sony MDRv6 headphones, they are pretty cheap for studio quality headphones. I don't know if they qualify as audiophile headphones.

True Audiophile headphones run, at a minimum, of $600. Mine are in the 'entry level' caregory.

Sony MDR-V6's. They're an older design, but provide great quality for the price.

On-topic:
I had a pair of Koss PortaPros which I loved for listening to music out and about, since they're open you can hear the world which makes for a safer listening experience while you walk in a busy town. They're good quality considering how dirt cheap they are.

I also used to have a pair of Dunu DN-1000's, which were really amazing sounding IEMs. I loved them, but eventually I left them in the washing machine and it trashed them ;-;
Expensive mistake right there.

I currently use a pair of Apple EarPods, which are perfectly fine, much better than old Apple earphones. While my listening experience is currently nothing special, I still enjoy my music and I'm looking forward to a time when I can invest in a nice speaker setup to have a much more enjoyable home entertainment system.

Apple EarPods are surprisingly very very very nice sounding. Nice range and deep low end response

The point of diminishing returns is at about $350 though, especially if you have a shitty amplifier.

This is so true. Your ears will be much happier if you spend $350 on headphones and a cheap DAC/AMP combo instead of blowing $600 on a single pair of headphones and using them with a low-quality source.
Besides, different headphones work better with different kinds of genres, so even if you already have a decent setup and want to spend a large sum of money on headphones, it might be better to get two different sounding pairs instead of just one.

I have urbeats earphones, I needed earphones in a rush and the closest store was an apple store so I bought them.

They have pretty good quality sound, but I don't think they were worth the $120 I paid for them.

ya, i know, but it was when I didn't have to worry about rent or bills and stuff.
